What if the item I'd like to exchange for is not available in the self service portal?
Thanks a lot for your order. I apologize for the functionality shortcoming in our existing return management system. It is true that the system is limited to exchanges within the same product style only.
This is a sometimes frustrating shortcoming of the return system on our website. Not to worry, we have a relatively straightforward workaround! The best way to process your exchange is for you to send the item you do not wnat as a return and then place a new order for the item you would like as an exchange. We ask that you reach out to our customer service team so we can make sure to waive the shipping cost.
We included specific instructions for this process below, along with a coupon code to cover the shipping costs for this "exchange" package:
1. First, create a Return for the item you no longer want within our Self Service Returns/Exchange Portal. Here you'll obtain your free return label to affix to the package and drop in the mail. Funds will be credited back to your account within 10 business days of receiving the return package.
2. Next, start a new order for the substitute "exchange" item that you would like on solidthreads.com. Please use the coupon code we provide for Free Shipping on this exchange.
3. We'll ship your new "exchange" items within 1 -3 biz days and refund you in full for the return items as soon as they are received.
From there, we'll look out for your new order, along with the return package, and proceed as outlined above.
